SkyNet Defense Technologies LLC is developing counter-UAS (counter-unmanned aircraft systems — defense against drones) command and control software for military installations and critical infrastructure. The platform fuses the sensors a site already has, classifies and tracks unmanned aerial threats, and directs the right response — at machine speed, under the commander's rules of engagement.
SkyNet was built from firsthand experience of the threat facing American forces and critical infrastructure — from the side of the problem where the assessments get written and the answers don't arrive fast enough.

James Zipen served nineteen years in the U.S. Marine Corps, retiring as a Gunnery Sergeant. He was an intelligence chief, with more than five years assigned to or in direct support of special operations forces — including a three-year Joint Special Operations assignment, a year with U.S. Special Operations Command Africa, and a foreign internal defense (FID) mission in Iraq relieving Army Special Forces.
Since retiring in 2016 he has spent nearly a decade as a defense contractor, almost all of it supporting special operations, most recently as team lead for the counter-unmanned-systems (counter-UxS) mission at U.S. Special Operations Command. He holds an active TS/SCI clearance and is the architect and developer of the SkyNet platform, its test suite, and its patent application.
